The Stream Menu Controls

The per stream menu system allows access to the settings and controls for each stream by right-clicking on the selected stream.  Information about the stream and its Base Station is directly available to display in the console.  A helpful tool-tip also provides details about the Base Station.  The various PFAT settings can all be accessed in this way.

Revised the menu system

From release 1.12 onward…(over a year ago now)  The prior per stream menu system (shown at left) has been replaced with a hierarchical one (shown at right).  The new layout organizes the data in a more logical and uniform way.  It also incorporates several end user feature requests for reporting functions.

Organization

The first few menu items at the top vary with each stream type and are used to control the streams operation and connections.  Refer to the tab for each stream type for further details.

The layout of the remaining menu items are shared by most streams (the NEARest streams are an exception to this) and are described below.

The PFAT Menu

The PFAT Menu provides a sub-menu to access each of the PFAT control functions.

The use of these is described further in other articles. This PFAT View Setup dialog provides a graphical overview of the current setting and access to several additional dialogs.

Logging and Caster Table Operations

The next two menu items…

  • Log Raw Data
Controls if the data stream is logged to an auto named file
  • Display Caster Entry
Prints the current Caster Table entry for this stream to the console.
If the Caster entry is hidden, this is also noted.

Showing Message Data

The next section of the menu provides several operations to show the message data content found in the stream. The features are typically used for short periods of time to examine the data stream and to confirm that the stream contents are expected.

  • Show Message Types
Provides a summary (and count) of the messages decoded from the stream.
The level of detail varies when parse is enabled or disabled.
  • Show Raw Data
Provides the ability to display the raw data in either Hex or ASCII display formats (or both).
  • Show in RTCM3 Viewer
Sends RTCM3 type data (stream must be parsed) to the RTCM 3.x Viewer dialog for a visual decoding of the message

Mapping, Connected Users, Navigation Filters

The next section of the menu provides several different operations.

  • View on Map…
Display the Base Station location on a Google Map dialog.
Uses the precise ECEF value when available, otherwise the Caster Table entry is used.
  • View Stream Users
Displays a list of the currently connected users to this stream in the console.
  • Graphical Views
Provides two simple navigation filters, graphically charting the results in various ways for viewing.
