{"id":295,"date":"2016-02-07T21:47:55","date_gmt":"2016-02-07T21:47:55","guid":{"rendered":"\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=295"},"modified":"2020-04-24T12:59:39","modified_gmt":"2020-04-24T12:59:39","slug":"question-can-i-use-the-same-logon-twice","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-can-i-use-the-same-logon-twice\/","title":{"rendered":"Question: Can I use the same logon twice?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Yes.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>For NTRIP Clients connecting to obtain data.\u00a0 In fact, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong> <\/span>offers several solutions to the &#8220;limited logons&#8221; problem which many private and State run NTRIP casters have.<\/p>\n<p>There are several Options to select from.\u00a0 It&#8217;s your caster, so you control who can log on to it, how many times their account can log on at once, or if anyone even needs to have an account in order to log on.<\/p>\n<p>The simplest solution is to simply leave the Caster &#8220;open&#8221; so anyone can connect.\u00a0 If you elect to close it, you will then need to add users.\u00a0 And each user account you create can connect as many times at once as you allow. The default is to allow 5 simultaneous connections per user account.<\/p>\n<p>See the Knowledge Base Article &#8220;<a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/managing-user-accounts\/\">Managing Your Users<\/a>&#8221; for more details.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Hint<\/strong><\/span>: This article deals with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">your<\/span> users connecting to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">your<\/span> caster.\u00a0 A related problem can be your copy of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong> <\/span>connecting to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">another<\/span> caster (remote-relay connections) to federate your local caster offerings while you are also trying to connect there with another tool.\u00a0 If you have a connection to another caster, it may only allow only ONE active connection at a time.\u00a0 As a best practice, you should have <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong> <\/span>connect using the provided account, and then let your other machines or local users community connect to <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 Using <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong> <\/span>to rebroadcast a stream and overcome the &#8220;limited logons&#8221; problem presents a solid solution to this issue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also<\/strong>:\u00a0 In you are sending data to a <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-caster\/\">NTRIP Caster<\/a> (such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.RTK2go.com\">RTK2go.com<\/a> or any other Caster), then the answer is probably <strong>NO<\/strong>.\u00a0 You need a reservation for <em>each<\/em> different Base Station you will connect.\u00a0 You can use the same connection for different\u00a0 devices or configurations <strong>if<\/strong> they are used <em>one at a time<\/em>.\u00a0 But for multiple connections at the same time, each needs it own unique name and credentials from the Caster operator.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes.
