{"id":298,"date":"2016-02-07T22:03:32","date_gmt":"2016-02-07T22:03:32","guid":{"rendered":"\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=298"},"modified":"2024-03-10T13:51:31","modified_gmt":"2024-03-10T13:51:31","slug":"question-how-many-users-can-i-have","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-how-many-users-can-i-have\/","title":{"rendered":"Question: How Many End Users Can I Have?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Unlimited.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>All models of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong> <\/span>offer <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">unlimited<\/span> NTRIP Caster client connections for your users.<\/p>\n<p>Practically speaking, more than a few hundred active client connections at once may reach the bandwidth limit of your local internet connection before the PC processor is loaded.\u00a0 On a machine with more bandwidth, several thousand active user connections are easily supported.<\/p>\n<h4>Details&#8230;<\/h4>\n<p>You may run your server in either <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">open<\/span> mode (no account required to access its data streams), or in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">closed<\/span> mode, where each user is required to have an account.\u00a0 Unlike many other NTRIP Casters, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;s default user account allows 5 connections at once for each account &#8211; not just one!\u00a0 You can change this value, on a per use basis, as you see fit.\u00a0 Creating a new user account is a single simple dialog.<\/p>\n<p>See the Knowledge Base Article &#8220;<a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/managing-user-accounts\/\">Managing Your Users<\/a>&#8221; for more details.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/span> Client connections are unlimited, but Caster Stream limits are set by the license type. The freely available\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em><strong>Lite<\/strong><\/em><\/span> model of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> is typically sufficient for many small network operators who operate less then three base stations at a time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unlimited.
