{"id":302,"date":"2016-02-07T22:17:21","date_gmt":"2016-02-07T22:17:21","guid":{"rendered":"\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=302"},"modified":"2020-11-23T16:11:04","modified_gmt":"2020-11-23T16:11:04","slug":"question-can-snip-read-serial-data-from-my-gnss","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-can-snip-read-serial-data-from-my-gnss\/","title":{"rendered":"Can SNIP read serial data from my GNSS?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Yes<\/h2>\n<p>One of the primary uses of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong> <\/span>is to perform the roles of both an <a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-server\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NTRIP Server<\/a> as well as an <a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-caster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NTRIP Caster <\/a>when serial data from a GNSS device is available.\u00a0 This allows publishing data to multiple <a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-client\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NTRIP Clients<\/a>.\u00a0 Here is an article that explains how to <a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/adding-serial-uart-data-streams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">connect a serial port<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong> <\/span>accepts serial data from between one and 15 serial ports depending on your license level.
