{"id":3233,"date":"2017-02-28T02:23:11","date_gmt":"2017-02-28T02:23:11","guid":{"rendered":"\/kb\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=3233"},"modified":"2026-04-08T00:05:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T00:05:10","slug":"question-snip-yearly-fees","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-snip-yearly-fees\/","title":{"rendered":"Question: Does SNIP have yearly fees?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is very simple. <strong>No<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 None.\u00a0 Nothing.\u00a0 Period.<\/p>\n<p>Many firms lease their <a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-caster\/\">NTRIP Caster<\/a> software and then also extract a large monthly or yearly ongoing fee for its use.\u00a0 We do not.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> is sold, along with a lifetime upgrade path for the model you purchase, for a <strong>single one-time purchase cost<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong>NOTE<\/strong><\/em><\/span>: There is a modest ongoing annual fee for certain <em><strong>Plug-In <\/strong><\/em>features you may want for Professional use for <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> to assist with your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/web-api-top-page\/\">web based accounting<\/a>, user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/user-accounts-adding-restrictions\/\">account restrictions<\/a>, sending <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/email-for-ntrip-clients\/\">eMail<\/a> etc.<br \/>\nThe use of these are entirely optional and is limited to <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em><strong>Pro<\/strong><\/em><\/span> models of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 These <em>Plug-Ins<\/em> provide additional abilities desired by those running a <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> Caster as part of a business concern (more details about available <em>Plug-In<\/em> features be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/plug-ins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<h3>Upgrades<\/h3>\n<p>Software upgrades are always free, automatically downloaded and installed, and typically released every ~90 days as requested features from our user community are incorporated.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can upgrade to a higher level model (aka\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Lite<\/em><\/strong><\/span> \u21d2\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Basic<\/em><\/strong><\/span> \u21d2 <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Pro<\/em><\/strong><\/span>) with additional features at <strong>any time<\/strong> by paying the current cost difference. Your previous investment is fully credited to your upgrade cost.
