{"id":3379,"date":"2017-01-02T01:21:39","date_gmt":"2017-01-02T01:21:39","guid":{"rendered":"\/kb\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=3379"},"modified":"2019-06-24T13:11:31","modified_gmt":"2019-06-24T13:11:31","slug":"can-rtklib-snip-used-machine","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/can-rtklib-snip-used-machine\/","title":{"rendered":"Can RTKLIB and SNIP be used on the same machine?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Yes!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There are not any problems or conflicts with doing this.<\/p>\n<p>And in fact you can run multiple copies of <strong>RTKLIB<\/strong> on the same node as <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> is running.\u00a0 This can be of value when you are using the native ability of RTKLIB to translate a vendors propriety GNSS format into the standard <a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/an-rtcm-message-cheat-sheet\/\">RTCM3 format<\/a> normally found on a <a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-caster\/\">NTRIP Caster<\/a> such as <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>We recommend you use <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;s PUSH-In stream type to do this.\u00a0 The <strong>RTKLIB<\/strong> tool connects using it&#8217;s <a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-server\/\">NTRIP Server<\/a> mode, and the stream appears in <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;s <a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/the-pushed-streams-tab\/\">PUSH-In tab<\/a> like any other data stream.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Hint #1<\/strong><\/span>:\u00a0 Just discovered your copy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rtklib.com\/\">RTKLIB<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/reachrs.emlid.com\/\">emild<\/a> &#8220;Reach&#8221; build of it can not run as an <a href=\"\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-caster\/\">NTRIP Caster<\/a>?<br \/>\nJust download the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/download\/\">free community <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong>Lite<\/strong><\/em><\/span> model<\/a> of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> and your issue is solved.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Hint #2<\/strong><\/span>:\u00a0 Planning to run <em>multiple<\/em> copies of RTKLIB on the same machine with different settings?<br \/>\nIt is best to have each copy in its own folder with its own binaries. As the Windows GUI in RTKLIB in fact calls the command line program, you can easily create a 2nd copy by clicking on the launcher, and it may run for some time without issues. But both copies will write their ini file to the same place and this can cause problems over time. [The last copy you close will be the only setting that are kept, but temporary orbital data is kept this was as well]<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">It is best to just clone the entire folder and have separate environments.\u00a0 We often have several preset copies here which we use for testing\u00a0 setups.\u00a0 With each in its own folder, they do not interfere with each other.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes!
