{"id":4358,"date":"2017-12-21T00:00:38","date_gmt":"2017-12-21T00:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=4358"},"modified":"2020-06-11T17:17:55","modified_gmt":"2020-06-11T17:17:55","slug":"snip-beta-1_11_9-is-released","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/snip-beta-1_11_9-is-released\/","title":{"rendered":"SNIP Beta 1_11_9 completed"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Update<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The 1.11.9 Beta release code has been passed for production, and will be released as 1.12 on December 21, 2018.\u00a0 This page is kept only for historical needs.\u00a0 The most current download of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> contains all of these feature improvements.\u00a0\u00a0 You can read about key 1.12 features here (link tbd).<\/p>\n<p>If you were using the Beta release, thank you for your help with testing it before release.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;s automatic update checking code will (Menu item under <em>Help\u00a0<\/em> &gt; Check for updates&#8230;) update your installation when you allow it.\u00a0 You must do this before mid January 2018 when the Beta will no longer function.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>[Old] New SNIP NTRIP Caster Beta Release<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>A new <em>beta<\/em> release of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> with many new features has now been issued in the Beta channel for any users who wish to try it and provide feedback.\u00a0 [ The download link has been removed. ]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can read more about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/pre-release-snip-editions\/\">feature list here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Because this is a beta, it will install alongside your regular copy of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>, leaving that intact and unchanged (you can select what folder to save it in).\u00a0 However the desktop shortcut will now go to the beta copy.\u00a0 You can run either copy, just not both at the same time.\u00a0 It will run for the next ~60 days, by which time these features will be in the production release for everyone to use.<\/p>\n<p>You should make a copy of your existing license.dat file and place it in the new folder if you wish to run a licensed copy.\u00a0 Otherwise it will operate in the normal <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em><strong>Evaluation<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>mode (or <em><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Lite<\/strong> <\/span><\/em>mode if you register it).\u00a0 It will read all your settings from the common *.ini file.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/pre-release-snip-editions\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4361 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/SNIP_Installer100x168.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"168\" height=\"100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/SNIP_Installer100x168.png 168w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/SNIP_Installer100x168-50x30.png 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 168px) 100vw, 168px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> feature road map is largely driven by user requests.\u00a0 We ask for your feedback on the new layout and clearer reading console. It appear this is related the cellular link that disconnect before sending a complete a complete request.\u00a0 Will remain open pending further data.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>CLOSED <\/strong><\/span>or otherwise dealt with<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 The new lines in the MountPts report that show &#8220;once connected&#8221; data streams does not format well when 15+ different <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/the-pushed-streams-tab\/\">PUSH-IN<\/a> streams are no longer present, please fix.\u00a0 <em><strong>Status<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> [In review (likely to add as a feature), in the short term if you enable the &#8220;word wrap&#8221; check box the list will break at the edge of the screen and remain in view.]\u00a0 Update:\u00a0 the new format breaks the text cleanly after every 8th entry to produce a more readable multiple line summary.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 Please enable the &#8220;B&#8221; blocked IP list dialog button on the main screen at all times.\u00a0 <em><strong>Status<\/strong><\/em>: <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> This is now active at all times, except for the <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em><strong>Lite<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>edition where it is disabled all the time (paid feature). Tool tip updated to reflect new menu layout as well.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 The new &#8220;sort&#8221; button causes an indexing problem when more than 3 PUSH-In streams are present with the same source mountPt name, and you cannot edit the stream you select.\u00a0 <em><strong>Status<\/strong><\/em>: <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> But sorting occurs based on the source data stream name and perhaps the destination name would be a better choice.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 The &#8220;contact data&#8221; for the Caster table network should have\u00a0 name\/firm\/phone\/email as separate fields and not combine phone and email as it does now.\u00a0 <em><strong>Status<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED\u00a0<\/span> Added in the 1.12 release.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 The &#8220;SNIP agent&#8221; details are garbled on non-SNIP devices when the summary of current users is used. <em><strong>Status<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED\u00a0 <\/span>Added additional logic to detect non-snip use cases.\u00a0 The &#8220;overlay&#8221; SNIP commands are not affected.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 When reporting PUSH-In devices summaries, it would be more useful to see the data pushed rather than the data returned (as is shown for clients.\u00a0 <em><strong>Status<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED\u00a0<\/span> Added requested feature. Nice call.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 The quarter cycle phase alignment should also state the status, not just a number.\u00a0 <em><strong>Status<\/strong><\/em>: <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 One <em><strong>Pro<\/strong> <\/em>user with <strong>SNIP<\/strong> on Win7 reports that the files MSVCP140.dll and VCRUNTIME140.dll had to be manually added to the \/bin folder in order to run.\u00a0 An installation on an ancient Win7 machine reports this as well.\u00a0 <em><strong>Status<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED\u00a0<\/span> These two files, needed due to the use of the MSVC2017 tool chain in this release are confirmed to be needed and have now been added.\u00a0 Here is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/SNIPbeta_1_11_9_missingDLLs.zip\">zip file<\/a> with these DLLs if you need it (your machine probably has a copy in other folders) or because you uploaded the first version.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Issue<\/em><\/strong>:\u00a0 What are these &#8220;Entries and Blocks&#8221; in the status line.\u00a0 <strong><em>Status<\/em><\/strong>: <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED<\/span> This is an aid to debug resulting from the new support for full html in the console now. It is just an indication of how large the console display is at any time and will be removed in the final build.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 The RTCM message viewer does not display message type 1013 for some streams.\u00a0 <em><strong>Status<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED\u00a0<\/span> Reviewed and able to recreate.\u00a0 The stream in question sent the message with no content, so showing only the header is the correct reply. [This message also contains the current number of leap seconds, and some folks use it just for that purpose.]<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 There are many new menu items that do not seem to work now.\u00a0 <em><strong>Status<\/strong><\/em>: <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CLOSED<\/span> This is an artifact of the 2.x release.
