{"id":5147,"date":"2018-03-14T00:37:47","date_gmt":"2018-03-14T00:37:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=5147"},"modified":"2019-09-09T20:16:55","modified_gmt":"2019-09-09T20:16:55","slug":"release-2_00_00-changes","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/release-2_00_00-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Release 2_00_00 Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What is new in the<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> SNIP<\/span> 2_00_00 release<\/strong>\u00a0 [released March 13th 2018]<\/p>\n<p>This is the next release of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> following the Rev 1_12_1 release of January 5th and including various pre-release Beta copies used as the run up for this formal 2.xx release.\u00a0 This release supports for both 32-bit and 64-bit installations in Windows.\u00a0 It is recommended that all Windows 32\/64 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> installations now update to using this release.\u00a0 A 64-bit Ubuntu release with identical features has begun final testing now.<\/p>\n<p>Major new features include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This release of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> features the first official release of the <strong>P.F.A.T.<\/strong>&#x2122; control process developed for <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Enterprise<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>users and now present in both <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Basic<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>and <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Pro<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>models of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 (as well as for <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Evaluation<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>use).\u00a0 The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/introducing-pfat\/\">PFAT controls<\/a> are explained further in their own<a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/article-categories\/advanced-topics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> section of the knowledge base<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 PFAT allows the manipulation of each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/rtcm-3-message-list\/\">RTCM 3<\/a> message stream in several ways to create specific message content for different users communities.\u00a0\u00a0 As explained further in the knowledge base, the message found in a Base Station can be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/pfat-filter-settings-and-uses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">filtered<\/a> out, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/pfat-add-settings-and-uses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">added<\/a> to, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/pfat-translate-settings-uses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">translate<\/a> in various ways.\u00a0\u00a0 Additional transformation methods form a major part of the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong> <\/span>Rev 2.x feature road-map.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/PFAT_GLO_removed.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5107 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/PFAT_GLO_removed.png?_t=1520987128\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/PFAT_GLO_removed.png 630w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/PFAT_GLO_removed-300x179.png 300w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/PFAT_GLO_removed-50x30.png 50w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/PFAT_GLO_removed-600x358.png 600w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/PFAT_GLO_removed-320x191.png 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PFAT also makes it easy to support different user communities with different datum needs.\u00a0 It now become easy to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/pfat-adjusting-datum-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">adjust the frame of reference<\/a> for any Base Station to meet local needs.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Changes to the console reporting and the general look and feel of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> will be seen throughout this release.\u00a0 A variety of tools and color highlighting,\u00a0 include a simple &#8216;pause&#8217; button, have been added to the console log to make finding the key information easier on a busy Caster when connection events are occurring rapidly.\u00a0 Along with this, a menu system of new report styles, with various methods of sorting and filtering has been introduced.\u00a0 These are also a key part of the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> Rev 2.x feature road-map. [spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Further support for <em>SNIP-2-SNIP<\/em> additional connection information has been expanded in this release.\u00a0 And a bug present in release 1.12.1 has been corrected to preventing sending this data to other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-client\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NTRIP Client<\/a> devices who could not process it.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>For remote users connecting to <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>, this release implements a new &#8216;status&#8217; command that allows (if the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> operator has enabled it) getting a web page of the current holdings in a more readable human format than as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-caster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NTRIP Caster<\/a> data <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/decoding-ntrip-caster-tables\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">table<\/a>.\u00a0 This is feature is present in all <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> models but is disabled until enabled.\u00a0 You can see an example of its use on our popular <a href=\"http:\/\/RTK2go.com\">RTK2go.com<\/a> open NTRIP Caster with the below command line<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rtk2go.com:2101\/SNIP::STATUS\">http:\/\/www.rtk2go.com:2101\/SNIP::STATUS<\/a><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>One of the summary lines in the above web report makes it easier for the less experienced user to see what mountPts are not longer present at that moment in time on the Caster. [spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Each data stream now has menu item to list its connected users; as well as one to display its location on a map.\u00a0 These menu items are covered further in an article on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/the-stream-menu-controls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new menu system<\/a>.\u00a0 And the extensive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/base-station-details\/\">Base Station tool-tip<\/a> system has been expanded to handle the additional information that PFAT settings can create.\u00a0 [spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Many other minor improvements were also added in this release of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> and a number minor problems were corrected as well.\u00a0 Among the most notable were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If an existing Base Station stream is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/pfat-parse-settings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">auto-parsed<\/a> (by right clicking on the stream) and <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> is then unable to both determine and to parse the message content (as can occur with uBlox proprietary or various Trimble CMR stream types), then <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> will restore the original message format found in the provided Caster Table.\u00a0 The only exception to this is when the Caster Table is ill-formed in which case <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> will correct it.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> will once again detect and use a NMEA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/nmea-gga-strings-in-ntrip-clients\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$GGA sentences<\/a> in the NTRIP Client connection when a client connect s using the Rev2 NTRIP protocol.\u00a0 This ability was not present in the last two releases of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> but has been restored.\u00a0 [$GGA sentences are used with <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/nearest-mountpt-use\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NEAR mountPT<\/a> ability to select which stream the user needs]<\/li>\n<li>An editing issue with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/reserving-pushed-mountpoint\/\"><strong>PUSH-In<\/strong> reservations<\/a> where the reservation was incorrectly marked as a\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/hiding-caster-table-entry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Hidden<\/em> <em>stream<\/em>
