{"id":5229,"date":"2018-03-30T22:44:44","date_gmt":"2018-03-30T22:44:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=5229"},"modified":"2019-06-25T15:27:18","modified_gmt":"2019-06-25T15:27:18","slug":"release-2_01_00-changes","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/release-2_01_00-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Release 2_01_00 Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What is new in the<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> SNIP<\/span> 2_01_00 release<\/strong>\u00a0 [released March 30th 2018]<\/p>\n<p>This is the next release of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> following the Rev 2_00_00 release of March 13th.\u00a0 It is a routine service release.<\/p>\n<p>It contains a number of improvements stemming from user feedback on the 2_00 release.\u00a0 This release supports for both 32-bit and 64-bit installations in Windows.\u00a0 It is recommended that all Windows 32\/64 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> installations now update to using this release.\u00a0 A similar 64-bit Ubuntu release with identical features should be released a few days, pending further testing of the installer process.<\/p>\n<h3>Notable changes in this release include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>This release corrected a minor memory leak which could be noticed after tens of thousands of ill-formed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/the-pushed-streams-tab\/\">PUSH-In<\/a> connections had occurred.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Using the web-based knowledge base from within <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> (the small green &#8220;<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><em>i<\/em><\/strong><\/span>&#8221; buttons found on dialogs) now uses a cookie to allow you to personalize the pages and will provide specific feedback suitable for your model of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Ubuntu process listing corrected to detect multiple copies running.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Stream up-time percentage logic has been corrected to removed math errors after 24+ hours of run time.<\/li>\n<li>Sluggish console updates on very busy Casters corrected in update thread.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Certain perverse connections where the same IP is both creating (PUSH-In) and consuming (as a Client) several data streams in multiple ways was correctly handled but not correctly <em>reported<\/em> in some reports (impacted some research teams using <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>).[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Corrected an issue with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/nearest-streams-tab\/\">NEAR stream<\/a> user connections where ill-formed Clients who also sent NMEA $GGA strings were not disconnected quickly.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Corrected an outdated<em> tool-tip<\/em> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/raw-tcpip-streams-tab\/\">Raw TCP\/IP streams<\/a> indicating that only one such stream was allowed for use at a time.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Corrected the report style used for NEAR user reports to match the style used by others.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Added new &#8220;helper&#8221; right click button for stream to point user to setup instructions.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Multiple GUI style issues addressed in Ubuntu edition to better match overall Windows test sizing.[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Original email server elements (present since rev 1.0) have been removed and will be replaced by a php system to allow mail to the registered clients (Pro feature only).[spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Outstanding issues known at this time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Qt &#8220;Web Engine&#8221; now used in Rev 2.xx is less responsive than the older method.\u00a0 [Qt discontinued support forcing developers to migrate to the all-purpose Web Engine, which is how <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> manages the various google maps it uses]\u00a0 We are investigating this further, but large maps (showing many hundreds of GNSS Base Stations and users) are quite slow and this will be corrected.\u00a0 [spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>The multiple FTP file upload function present all editions of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> (windows and Ubuntu regardless of model) may be be issued for Ubuntu due to issues with porting that part of the code base.\u00a0 [spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221; id=&#8221;3&#8243;]<\/li>\n<li>Users have asked that the tool-tip summary of each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/base-station-details\/\">base station detail<\/a> be available over the web interface.\u00a0 This was already on the road map but will be pushed ahead and initially be enabled on a per-systems basic (rather then <em>per-stream<\/em> which will be developed thereafter).\u00a0 [spacer height=&#8221;15px&#8221;
