{"id":5940,"date":"2019-01-23T23:47:39","date_gmt":"2019-01-23T23:47:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=5940"},"modified":"2021-02-20T23:31:27","modified_gmt":"2021-02-20T23:31:27","slug":"links-links-links","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/links-links-links\/","title":{"rendered":"Links, Links, Links"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most interesting recent improvement to <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong> <\/span>(in release <strong>2.07<\/strong>) is the extensive use of document linking to move between various data views and reports to explore the connections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5943\" src=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/LLLsm.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"256\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/LLLsm.png 256w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/LLLsm-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/LLLsm-50x50.png 50w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/LLLsm-60x60.png 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> operator can easily move between views of the GNSS Base Stations,\u00a0 the NTRIP Client users (or Rovers) and the Internet IP address being used to connect them.\u00a0\u00a0 Plus, basic background data about each IP address can be displayed to inform the operator in more detail about who is connecting to the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> NTRIP Caster.\u00a0 [And some of these report details can be made public for outside end users to view if the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> operator enables their use]\u00a0 On top of this is overlaid the connection data <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> collects for each Base Station and User.<\/p>\n<h3>Examples of use<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">These examples use a mountPt chosen off <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rtk2go.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RTK2go<\/a>, the details have be obscured to protect privacy.<br \/>\nClick to enlarge any image.<\/p>\n<h4>Base Station Links<\/h4>\n<p>By clicking on a <strong>Base Station<\/strong> name when it appears in the console or in a report, the document viewer will display the then current details about the Base Station including its message types and contents, its precise or general location (which can then be mapped with another click) and a report of its current and past users.\u00a0 This is called a <em>Station Report<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/BaseReport-Example.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5975\" src=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/BaseReport-Example.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"509\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/BaseReport-Example.png 750w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/BaseReport-Example-221x300.png 221w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/BaseReport-Example-37x50.png 37w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/BaseReport-Example-600x814.png 600w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/BaseReport-Example-320x434.png 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>IP Address Links<\/h4>\n<p>By clicking on any <strong>IP value<\/strong> that appears in the console or in a report, the document viewer will display a summary of the activity which has occurred from that IP address.\u00a0 This includes all the different connection types, and what NTRIP agents (or browsers) have been used to make them. This is called a <em>IP Connection Report.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/SingleIP-Example.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5974\" src=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/SingleIP-Example.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"498\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/SingleIP-Example.png 996w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/SingleIP-Example-300x280.png 300w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/SingleIP-Example-768x716.png 768w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/SingleIP-Example-50x47.png 50w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/SingleIP-Example-920x857.png 920w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/SingleIP-Example-600x559.png 600w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/SingleIP-Example-320x298.png 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 498px) 100vw, 498px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the bottom of this report some summary information about the IP value itself is given (the IPS used, the region etc.), as well as a reverse Geo-location lookup report for that IP.\u00a0 [See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/geographic-reverse-ip-look-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this article<\/a> for more details on the Geographic Reverse IP look-up process.]<\/p>\n<p>At the top of this report the nearest IPs with similar value ranges are also displayed.\u00a0\u00a0 Up to six addresses will be displayed (three above the current IP, three below).\u00a0 This provided a handy way to learn about other nearby connections at the press of a button. For example, in some regions of the world mobile cellular phone <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-client\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NTRIP Clients<\/a> will connect over a sequence of closely spaced IP values as they change towers (in other parts of the world the IP used is handed off between the towers).<\/p>\n<h4>User Links<\/h4>\n<p>By clicking on any <strong>User Name<\/strong> that appears in the console or in a report or in a dialog (such as the Connected Users Dialog), the document viewer will display a summary of the that users connection activity include what mountPts they have connection, what NTRIP Agents were used, and what IP Addresses were involved.\u00a0 This also works for user connections where no user account name is present (open Casters); simply click on the unique C#### value assigned to the connection.
