The Automatic Vehicle Location<\/strong> (AVL) <\/strong>tab is used to quickly see the last few NMEA $GGA<\/a> reported locations for all connected NTRIP Client<\/a> devices.\u00a0 The tab also controls the AVL server which is used to send these locations to other connected machines (see Note A)<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0 The AVL server provides a way to use SNIP<\/strong><\/span> as the front end to feed data to general purpose tracking and dispatch applications available from other 3rd party software providers.<\/p>\n

The AVL server allows other parties to connect to a designated TCP\/IP port on the SNIP<\/strong><\/span> Caster.\u00a0 All connected parties are sent a copy of each NMEA $GGA sentence when it arrives from each Rover device.\u00a0 The $GGA sentence is preceded with details about each user, as shown below (identifying details obscured in this example to protect privacy<\/em>).\u00a0 A simple Latitude-Longitude-Height (LLH) format is also supported.\u00a0 Various other formats are being developed at this time; we invite SNIP<\/strong><\/span> operators to tell us about your formatting needs in this regard.\u00a0 A dated log file can also be kept of all $GGA sentences for post processing needs.<\/p>\n

\nA complete set of all current connected users, those both with<\/em> and without<\/em> any NMEA $GGA sentence content can also be displayed using the Show Users<\/a> button found in the Caster and Clients<\/em><\/strong><\/a> tab.<\/p>\n
Helpful Hint:
\n<\/strong><\/span>If you set the checkbox Accept NMEA $GPGGA data<\/em> (which is found in the Misc. Settings<\/em> of the Preferences Dialog<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0 then the Caster Table entries will be adjusted to tell every NTRIP Client to send NMEA-183 $GGA sentences.\u00a0 While not all NTRIP Clients will follow this direction, it will result in more devices sending NMEA $GGA sentences back to the Caster.<\/p>\n
