Caster Stream Reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This article provides a quick review of several Stream Reports that the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/question-what-is-an-ntrip-caster\/\">NTRIP Caster<\/a> provides and their general usage.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 These reports can be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/printing-reports-and-charts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">printed<\/a> or sent to others by way of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/sending-email-from-snip\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eMail<\/a> service.<\/p>\n<p>These are all invoked by using the <em><strong>Reports<\/strong> <\/em>menu, and the <em><strong>All Streams<\/strong><\/em> sub-menu.\u00a0 And each item displays its report in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/the-document-viewer\/\">document viewer<\/a> window.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/SNIP-ReportMenus2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6512 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/SNIP-ReportMenus2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"370\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/SNIP-ReportMenus2.png 370w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/SNIP-ReportMenus2-300x234.png 300w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/SNIP-ReportMenus2-50x39.png 50w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/SNIP-ReportMenus2-320x250.png 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The content and presentation varies based on the selected sorting criteria.\u00a0 In general, these sorted reports are of most value to the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> operator with several hundred streams and\/or connections that need periodic monitoring.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;s extensive hypertext linking allows moving between other related reports in the document viewer.<\/p>\n<h2>MountPt Report<\/h2>\n<p>This report provides the now classic mountPt summary listing with the general status of each Base Station stream, its unique slot assignment, reservation status, IP details, and up\/down state.\u00a0 Unlike the\u00a0 &#8220;List MountPts&#8221; button found on several of the tabs, selecting this using the menu will result in the report being placed into a new tab in the document viewer (rather than the log console).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6536\" src=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/0-ReportSlotSumCrop.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"428\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/0-ReportSlotSumCrop.png 600w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/0-ReportSlotSumCrop-300x214.png 300w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/0-ReportSlotSumCrop-50x36.png 50w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/0-ReportSlotSumCrop-320x228.png 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Sort By&#8230;.<\/h2>\n<p>Several of the reports provide a way to <em>sort<\/em> the report content by various metrics.<\/p>\n<h3>Data Received<\/h3>\n<p>This report provides a summary of which data streams (Base Station connections) have <em>received<\/em> the most in-bound data. Excessively large values often indicate that a stream has non-RTCM clutter or unwanted messages as part of the message payload (which should be removed at the source or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/pfat-filter-settings-and-uses\/\">PFAT Filtering<\/a> can be used).\u00a0 It can also indicate that observational data is being sent at a rate higher than 1Hz, which <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> fully supports, but which is of little practical value.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6516\" src=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-ReportRecData.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"648\" height=\"618\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-ReportRecData.png 648w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-ReportRecData-300x286.png 300w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-ReportRecData-50x48.png 50w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-ReportRecData-600x572.png 600w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-ReportRecData-320x305.png 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 648px) 100vw, 648px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Data Served<\/h3>\n<p>This report provides a summary of the total data <em>served out<\/em> to the connected NTRIP Clients for each stream. The values grow in proportion to the number of connected users as well as the amount of data available and the length of time that data streams have been present.\u00a0 <em><strong>Hint<\/strong><\/em>: You can also use the weekly log menu item to display the amount of data served out over time. Depending on how you have set up your <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> node, these connections may come from the same user account or from multiple accounts.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong>Hint<\/strong><\/em><\/span>: The <em><strong>Show Current Users<\/strong> <\/em>dialog can be used to see more details about each individual connection (available as a menu item and as a button on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/the-caster-and-clients-tab\/\">Caster and Clients tab<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" Re-connections<\/h3>\n<p>This report provides a summary of which streams are re-connecting the most.\u00a0\u00a0 In general, many re-connection events indicate a stream or connection that is unable to sustain use as a Base Station and the root cause should be investigated and corrected.\u00a0 <em><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Hint<\/strong><\/span><\/em>: You can also use the weekly log Off-Line<\/h3>\n<p>This report provides a quick summary of any data streams that are <em>off-line<\/em> or otherwise unable to connect and send data.\u00a0 Such streams may require additional attention or action to be brought back on-line.\u00a0 If no off-line streams are found, the report summarizes this.\u00a0 The report is ordered by each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/stream-types\/\">stream type<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6521\" provides a summary of the NTRIP connection agents seen (as well any agent used by common browsers that have connected to your copy of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 Within the report, the content can be further filtered by the type of agent.\u00a0 Well-formed NTRIP software products provide a unique agent string when connecting, but many <em>low end<\/em> and <em>open source<\/em> projects do not (four such agents can be seen in the below).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter the Base Stations which form the &#8220;pool&#8221; used by the NEAR stream as well as other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/the-stream-menu-controls\/\">setup<\/a>
