{"id":7755,"date":"2021-04-27T23:01:06","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T23:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=7755"},"modified":"2021-04-29T13:00:14","modified_gmt":"2021-04-29T13:00:14","slug":"release-3_01_00-changes","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/release-3_01_00-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Release 3_01_00 Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What is new in the<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> SNIP<\/span> 3_01_00 release<\/strong> &#8211; released April 27th 2021<br \/>\n(updating the prior release of 3_00_00 of March 9th 2021):<\/p>\n<p>This is the next production release of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> following the Rev 3_00 release.\u00a0 This release contains a one key new feature (the Back-Up process) as well as several minor <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> corrections and improvements in response to user requests.\u00a0 It is recommended that all deployments upgrade to this edition.<\/p>\n<p>This release supports both 32-bit and 64-bit installations on all Windows Platforms from Windows 7 to the current editions.\u00a0 It is strongly recommended that all Windows 32\/64 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> installations now update to using this release.<\/p>\n<h2>Notable changes in this release include<\/h2>\n<h3>Support for a Comprehensive Back-Up Process<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> now provides a one-click method to Back-Up up all the critical settings for your Caster.\u00a0 Simply use the menu item below to perform a full Back-Up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SNIP_BackUpMenu2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7727\" src=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SNIP_BackUpMenu2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"493\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SNIP_BackUpMenu2.png 740w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SNIP_BackUpMenu2-300x122.png 300w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SNIP_BackUpMenu2-50x20.png 50w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SNIP_BackUpMenu2-600x243.png 600w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SNIP_BackUpMenu2-320x130.png 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 493px) 100vw, 493px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Pro<\/em><\/strong><\/span> deployments a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/downloads\/back-up-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Back-Up service<\/a> Plug-in provides useful additional features.\u00a0 This Plug-in provides the means to automate when the Back-Up run process is run, to protect the resulting file with a private password, and to automatically send the final ZIP file off-site for greater disaster recovery protection.\u00a0\u00a0 The general settings dialog for this is shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7745\" src=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/BackUpSettings.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/BackUpSettings.png 460w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/BackUpSettings-246x300.png 246w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/BackUpSettings-41x50.png 41w, https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/BackUpSettings-320x390.png 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong>Aside<\/strong><\/em><\/span>: The next Plug-In up for release will be the distributed <b>Real-Time Monitoring <\/b>service.<\/p>\n<h3>Other Misc. Changes of Note<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In the Rev 3.00.00 release the setting for &#8220;<em>Allow Anonymous Users<\/em>&#8221; switch was not being saved each time.\u00a0 As a result new deployments had to set this value every time <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> was run.\u00a0 Existing deployments tended not to notice this bug as they has already set the value to their own preferred state.\u00a0 This has been corrected.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> handles data streams from remote Base Station devices that do not correctly implement NTRIP correctly. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> implements a means to provide additional data using the the &#8220;Manual MountPt&#8221; dialog for any missing information (typically the city of origin).\u00a0\u00a0 Under some conditions the mountPt name could be set to be empty, causing issues in the Caster table.\u00a0 This has been corrected.<\/li>\n<li>From a user request; the additional message content details shown in the console log when charting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/navigation-filter-types\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">navigation filter<\/a> are now only displayed when the checkbox &#8220;Log&#8221; is enabled.\u00a0 This produces a cleaner console display on busy Casters.<\/li>\n<li>Some users who participated in the beta testing of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/knowledge-base\/restricting-users-by-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">User Time Restriction<\/a> had certain control logic values set to values which were inconsistent with the final release.\u00a0 As a result of this, these deployments saw valid user accounts getting disconnected every 5 minutes.\u00a0 This has been corrected.<\/li>\n<li>A number of internal text items were revised to use one style of English rather than a mix of both US and British English (e.g.<span class=\"ILfuVd\"><span class=\"hgKElc\"> <b>canceled<\/b> <\/span><\/span>became <span class=\"ILfuVd\"><span class=\"hgKElc\"><b>cancelled<\/b> etc.). <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em>How to Update\u2026<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>Updates to <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> are always free and easy, your Caster will be offline about 3 minutes.\u00a0 From within <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span>, simply use the menu item <strong>Help<\/strong> \u21d2 <strong>Check for Updates\u2026<\/strong> \u00a0 Your update will be downloaded from our secure servers and then you will be asked to allow <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> to restart and update itself.\u00a0 On some Windows 10 systems you must manually exit the current copy of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>SNIP<\/strong><\/span> to update.\u00a0 That\u2019s all there is to it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is new in the SNIP 3_01_00 release &#8211; released April 27th 2021 (updating the prior release of 3_00_00 of March 9th 2021): This is the next production release of SNIP following the Rev 3_00 release.\u00a0 This release contains a one key new feature (the Back-Up process) as well as [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":13,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"ht-kb-category":[286],"ht-kb-tag":[363,221],"class_list":["post-7755","ht_kb","type-ht_kb","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","ht_kb_category-release-history","ht_kb_tag-features","ht_kb_tag-release"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ht-kb\/7755","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ht-kb"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/ht_kb"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/13"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=7755"}],"version-history":[{"count":12,"href":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ht-kb\/7755\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":7767,"href":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ht-kb\/7755\/revisions\/7767"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=7755"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"ht_kb_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ht-kb-category?post=7755"},{"taxonomy":"ht_kb_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.use-snip.com\/kb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ht-kb-tag?post=7755"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
