This article describes how to safety remove various data files and other reports that can accumulate on the host machine running the SNIP<\/strong><\/span> NTRIP Caster.\u00a0 In general terms, files with raw data from a Base stations can and should be removed on machines with limited disk space.\u00a0 Other files (such as prior weekly logs) should be kept to allow more comprehensive reports from the Caster.<\/p>\n

You may occasionally see an console error message (or receive one by eMail if you have the eMail Plug-In<\/a> active) that state words similar to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Data Disk Space File Count<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n1234 files. Warning!<\/b><\/span> Too many files. (1000)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

This is tested at start-up and every 12 hour thereafter.\u00a0 These messages inform you that the number of files saved by SNIP<\/strong><\/span> in its various folders have exceeded the threshold you have set.\u00a0 Upon receiving this message, the Caster operators should make time to review the files contents and and remove those files that are no longer needed.<\/p>\n

Where is the data stored…<\/h3>\n

The default location to store data files is the path\u00a0 …\\SNIP\\bin\\data folder path.\u00a0 For most installation this is located on the ‘C’ drive at:\u00a0 C:\\Program Files (x86)\\SNIP\\bin\\data\u00a0 You can change this location using\u00a0 the Log Settings<\/strong> dialog<\/a>.\u00a0 Use the menu command: Misc \u21d2 Data File Settings…\u00a0 to bring this up.<\/p>\n
